Disability Confidence Award Nominations now open
We are proud to announce that nominations are now open for our annual disability confidence awards.
Launched in 2022, the awards recognise and celebrate organisations that have made systematic changes to their workplaces to become inclusive of employees and customers with disability, as well as individuals who have worked to promote disability inclusion.
You can nominate for the following awards:
- The Disability Inclusion Changemaker of the Year
- The Disability Employee Network of the Year
- The Supervisor of the Year
- The Inclusive Initiative of the Year
- The Mentor of the Year
Nominate yourself, your organisation or your colleague by Midnight Friday 31 March. Winners will be announced at our awards night in Sydney on Monday 5 June.
Save the date for our 2023 National Conference which will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney on Tuesday 6 June. Registrations to attend will open in coming weeks.
Apply for a Disability Leadership scholarship
The second round of our Disability Leadership Program scholarships are now open.
Developed in partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and funded by the Department of Social Services, the scholarships are designed to provide leaders with disability with the skills they require to secure board positions.
Leaders with disability receive a full-fee scholarship to complete one of the AICD’s prestigious governance courses, in addition to receiving a one-year AICD membership.
The program will also work with existing directors to build disability confidence through Leader-to-Leader Conversations facilitated by the Australian Network on Disability.
Applications close on 19 February 2023 and positions are limited. Apply for a Disability Leadership Scholarship.
Create an accessible and inclusive workplace
Are you committed to making your workplace more inclusive and accessible, but you don’t know where to start?
Developing and implementing an Access and Inclusion Plan (AIP), also known as Disability Action Plan, can be challenging. That’s why we have developed an AIP Masterclass. Our Masterclass supports organisations by providing the tools, skills and guidance to develop your Access and Inclusion Plan.
Find out more at our AIP information session on Tuesday 14th February. Registrations for the Masterclass close on 10 March.
